This is a great destination for summer and early fall trips, as the high altitudes keep things nice and cool, even for biking. There are great boutique and luxury hotels to balance the challenge of the rides with indulgent relaxation. Refuel with hearty mountain cuisine, with lots of fresh cheeses and meats.
- Already cycled the Dolomites? Consider Sicily's Madonie region. The Madonie are a mountain chain in the northern part of the island. Picture gravel biking on rugged mountain roads while discovering a part of Sicily that few see, but which has so much beauty to offer. It's lovely in spring and autumn, and you can indulge in incredible Sicilian food.
You're a big foodie who wants leisurely rides, great food, and to explore some of Italy's more iconic cities.
- It's time to head to Tuscany! Experience the classic Tuscan hills in the saddle of a comfy and powerful electric bike that makes the climbs feel as easy as the downhills. Wind your way along Tuscany's Chianti region, explore famous cities like Siena and Florence, while also seeing smaller, but equally romantic towns, like Pienza and Montalcino. Join a cooking class and learn to make classic Tuscan fare. Sample your fill of Super Tuscan wines, and soak in the timeless elegance of Tuscany.
- Already been to Tuscany? You might enjoy Emilia-Romagna, a key region for food production in Italy. Visit classic Italian cities like Bologna and Modena. Emilia Romagna is foodie heaven! Learn all about balsamic vinegar at an authentic acetaia, and savor samples. Visit a museum dedicated to Culatello, a type of cured meat, complete with samples, of course! Meet the sweet cows at the center of Parmigiano Reggiano production, and taste-test the cheese aged to varying degrees. Bike rides are leisurely and fairly flat, passing through bucolic scenes of pastures and fields of grain.

- Calabria is the choice for you! It's rustic, simple, and authentic. It has amazing natural parks for gorgeous cycling in the great outdoors, paired with rural B&Bs and charming hotels that provide a very homey, genuine feeling. Cyce through the lunar environment of the badlands, or to the shimmering seaside… Calabria has lots to offer for those with adventure in their hearts.
- If Calabria sounds a little too adventurous, why not head to the Tuscan Maremma? This is the region of the Butteri, Italian cowboys who once wandered the land with their cows. It has marvelous seaside escapes, moody inland plains that lead to dramatic clifftops where medieval towns sit perched atop the ruins of civilizations stretching back to Etruscan times. Ride through pine forests that stretch along gorgeous coastlines, bathe in mineral-rich natural hot springs used since Roman times, and uncover the long and complex history of this unusual land.
You consider yourself an amateur sommelier and want to indulge in great wine and fun rides.
- Wine-not come to the Piedmont (corny joke, but we couldn't resist)! This region has an amazing wine culture, gorgeous scenery, and a Royal history. Home to the famed Savoy family, it's dotted with their regal residences and palaces, which offer a glimpse into their lavish lifestyles. Visit the historic city of Turin, and pedal towards wine country. Balance rides that take you up and down verdant hills, terraced with vineyards, and days spent getting up close with the vines and wine makers, touring their facilities and tasting their offerings. This region is home to Barolo, the king of wine, Barbaresco, the queen, and other fabulous reds like Barberas, Nebbiolos, and Dolcettos. The region also has plenty of white wines to discover, like Arneis and Gavi. You can't go wrong in the Piedmont!
You are looking for a classic vacation with beaches, leisurely rides, and a range of great activities for everyone.
- Apulia is calling you! You and your loved ones will become engulfed in the culture. We have so many great activities to suggest in this region. From learning to make mozzarella by hand, to dancing the pizzica with our friend Serena, to making classic Apulian recipes in Gianna's kitchen! Enjoy leisurely rides along flat, often dirt roads, lined with short stone walls that encircle centuries-old olive groves. Relax at one of the region's many incredible beaches, or explore the coastline by boat and jump in the water for some snorkeling. Take in the magical atmosphere of the famed trulli houses, and explore the whitewashed town of Ostuni. No matter what you choose to do, you can't go wrong in Apulia.
- Sicily is another great choice! Cycle around Eastern Sicily's baroque towns, taking in their architectural splendor. Then hop of a hydrofoil and spend a few days exploring the Aeolian islands by boat and bike. From there, head to Taormina and dive into Sicilian cuisine with our friend Chef Massimo.
You have been part of the Siciclando family for a while. You dream of that signature Siciclando experience, but you are looking to go outside of Italy.
- We have been working hard to expand our tour options outside of Italy. We have cycled our way up and down Croatia's Coast, even heading up into Slovenia and exploring Slovenia's gorgeous mountains. The Duoro River Valley and the Serra da Estrela Mountains in Portugal have also captured our heart. Amazing wine, gourmet food and michelin-starred restaurants with bike routes that are astonishingly beautiful. The Azores offers all that and more, perfect for luxury lovers who also adore cycling though pristine natural environments. One country just not enough? Cycle through Germany, Switzerland, and Austria around Lake Constance. From charming medieval towns to delicious local flavors, this trip is a perfect blend of bucolic pedals, local culture and cuisine, and is perfect for wine and beer lovers. This year, we are also testing bike tours through France's Bordeaux wine region. Long stretches of bike paths running past vineyards and fields, along rivers, and even to shimmering beaches.
