What to expect on future tours

We look forward to have you on tour with us! We believe that a bike tour is one of the safest ways to travel, as you experience a new place out in the fresh air. Travel has changed — this, along with our commitment to your health and safety, has led to some changes on your Siciclando bike tour.

Preparing for Italy

  • As usual, pack a variety of clothing, ready for changes in weather and activities
  • Bring a mask or as many as you need to support your own health and to align with any regulations that may be in place when you are on tour
  • Check the advice of your airlines to see what they are recommending or requiring for international travel
  • We will send you information before your trip providing updates and reminders
  • If you have any signs of illness or if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, we ask that you cancel or postpone your tour.

On arrival and on tour

  • If you are arranging your own transportation from the airport to the bike tour, you will notice that bus and taxi drivers are wearing masks. We encourage you to wear one as well when using public transportation.
  • If we are arranging your transportation, we have arranged for our drivers to wear masks and to use larger vehicles so you can ride in the back seat with more distance between you and the driver.
  • We are requesting that the seats and doors of the vehicles be wiped down between customers/use.
  • When you meet your Siciclando representative, there will not be the usual hugs and handshakes. Our team will be wearing masks and we encourage you to do the same. This may be adjusted if we are all outside and maintain an appropriate distance.
  • On guided tours, the Tour Leader will take the temperature of each guest every morning. If anyone has a fever, they will not be able to be with the group and will be asked to stay at the hotel or be transferred to the next hotel to begin a quarantine. A decision will be made about getting the guest tested for COVID/quarantining. This could also have an impact on their traveling companion, if there is one.

Hotels

  • Hotel check in will allow one person, one couple, or one family in the lobby at a time or at a minimum distance of 6 feet. Masks will be worn by hotel staff. We encourage you and your party to wear masks as well.
  • Some of the registration process may take place before your arrival including contact information and copies of passports.
  • Most hotel front desks now have a glass shield at the counter to create a barrier between guest and staff. The lobby area and common spaces will be sanitized regularly and in between guests.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the desk.
  • Housekeeping will be scheduled and you will be alerted of the timing to avoid contact in the room.
  • Breakfasts at the hotel will either have tables placed 6 feet apart, outside with tables distanced, or will be served in your room.

Transportation / Van Support

  • Passengers cannot ride in the seat next to the driver either in a taxi or in the Siciclando van.
  • Only two passengers will be allowed to per row of seats, unless it is with family members.
  • Interior surfaces will be sanitized between trips. This is for taxis and for the Siciclando van.
  • Drivers will wear a mask and gloves.
  • Interior air filters will be changed between tours.

Equipment

  • Bikes, helmets, water bottles, bike bags, and GPS units will be sanitized at the end of each ride.

Tips to stay healthy

  • If you feel any symptoms of illness (fever, cough, unusual fatigue, etc.) Please alert your tour guide or for self-guided call one of the Siciclando representatives. We will decide together if testing is necessary and will support you in a quarantine.

  • Do not touch your face if your hands are not washed.
  • Do not share water bottles or glasses.
